MG U9 Pickup Truck Launch and Pricing
The MG U9 has already launched in select global markets, with an expected India debut soon. The pickup comes in three trims: Explore, Explore X, and Explore Pro. Prices range roughly from ₹31 lakh to ₹36 lakh. Its size places it firmly in the mid-size pickup category at 5.5 meters long and 2 meters wide.
MG targets buyers who want a tough pickup with modern comforts. It offers a spacious cabin, advanced safety features, and tech-packed interiors, making it suited for urban and off-road driving.
Powerful 2.5-Litre Turbo-Diesel Engine and Off-Road Capability
The U9 is powered by a strong 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine producing 215bhp and 520Nm torque. The engine pairs with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF. It also features a BorgWarner 4WD system with electronically controlled locking differentials.
With a ground clearance of 220mm and approach/departure angles of 29 and 25 degrees, the MG U9 deftly handles rough terrain. It can tow up to 3,500kg and has a payload of 870kg, suitable for demanding work and recreation use.
Premium Interior Features and Safety Equipment
MG emphasizes a luxurious cabin experience with leather seats, suede headliner, and a panoramic sunroof. The U9 has dual 12.3-inch infotainment screens and a premium JBL sound system.
Safety tech is robust, including 7 airbags, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and a 360-degree camera. MG’s multi-fold seats enhance cargo versatility, making this pickup highly practical.
